BBNA is committed to fostering the professional and personal growth of future nurses through its scholarship and mentoring program. The BBNA mentoring program provides activities that enable growth and empowerment of nursing students for future service in nursing. BBNA awards an annual scholarship to a nursing student enrolled in a pre-licensure nursing program in the state of Alabama. The BBNA scholarship is awarded in November of each year at our Annual Scholarship Reception.
Scholarships provided by BBNA for unlicensed nursing students pursuing an associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing. There is one $1,000 scholarship available.
Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies Scholarship Assistance Award
Scholarship provided by Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies (BBBB), a 501(c) (3), organization that supports women/men of color who are either breast cancer survivors or have been directly affected by the disease. The organization also educates, and facilitates activities and programs to empower its target audience. Ms. Brenda J. Phillips Hong is the founding executive director of BBBB. The scholarship is for an undergraduate or graduate nursing student pursuing a degree who demonstrates an interest in breast cancer education. The scholarship recipient must participate in a minimum of one breast cancer awareness community forum sponsored by Brenda’s Brown Bosom Buddies. The scholarship is $500.
